HABITAT 67 - A SPECTACULAR COMPLEX IN THE RIVERSIDE OF QUEBEC

HABITAT 67 is a residential complex locating in the St Lawrence Riverside, facing the Old Port of Montreal, It was launched in April 27th 1967 and this is one of the strangest building all over the world which followed the Brutalist Architecture Style. First for all, I have to tell you this project was a half failure. Indeed that this unique building is the most impressing construction in both Quebec and Canada, but its designer originally aimed to provide an affordable project for the suburban. However, as we have known, the price for an apartment there is extremely high because of the tremendous demand from the people. Let have a look at this architectural wonder.

Back to over 50 years ago, this project was designed by Israeli-Canadian architect Moshe Safdie as his master thesis at the McGill University.
